Job Summary

The System Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance, upgradation and configuration of computer systems, networking, servers and virtualization, the person must have a problem-solving mindset, with a detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting.

What You’ll Do

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions.
  • Maintain the integrity of the network, manage server deployment, apply network security best-practices while ensuring connectivity throughout LAN/WAN.
  • Assets management, Desktop, laptop and server support. Troubleshooting, repair, installs and upgrades.
  • Manage virtual servers, install and upgrade computer components.
  • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover process.
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
  • Provide and prepare documentation along with technical specifications about implementing or upgrading IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure security and stability of networks through the application of best practice methodologies including implementation of access controls, antivirus software, and firewalls.
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 2 years of working experience in similar capacity.
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus.
  • Sound knowledge of Operating systems, including Mac, Windows, iOS, Linux.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies, VMWare, Azure or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices.
  • Good communication skills to explain IT processes in user-friendly language.
  • Able to adjust work schedule as per business needs.
  • Must be able to guide staff/clients regarding IT trouble shooting.
  • Available to provide 24/7 on-call support if need arises.
