Virtual Data Model Deployment

Virtual data models allow users to create a federated view of data dispersed across on-premise databases, in-memory formats, private and public cloud, file formats, and web applications. Simply drag and drop data source objects onto the visual designer to create your virtual data model. Specify database table and virtual database table layouts to match or customize the fields based on your user preference. Deploy your virtual data model with a single click to generate a unified, all-encompassing virtual database for consuming applications and users.

Virtual Data Model Redeployment

Modify different aspects of your virtual data model, such as source database table layout, caching schedule, virtual entity names, and cache table schemas, through a simple redeployment process. Once the VDM has been redeployed, you can track its progress in the redeployment log to ensure the implementation of changes and resolve warnings and errors to reflect the changes in your virtual database.

Astera Query Language (AQL)

Designed to simplify query generation for developers, Astera Query Language enables access to disparate virtual database sources and perform object referencing among entities. Execute your queries from the Query Editor window or use the Multi-Table Query Source feature, which self-generates AQL statements, to access virtual database and perform data quality and profiling. In addition to SQL databases, Astera Query Language offers support for non-SQL sources, like Access, Excel, and others.

Multi-Table Query Source

Astera Data Virtualization enables users to utilize virtual databases as a source for subsequent integration processes through Multi-Table Query Source. This feature simplifies complex data integration flows, reducing processing time whilst providing near real-time data to users. Call your virtual database in a dataflow or workflow and perform transformations, such as Aggregate, Normalize, Denormalize, Expression, Filter, and more. Load your transformed data onto any on-premise or cloud database for BI and analytics.

Source Data Caching and Monitoring

Speed up your data retrieval process by enabling caching on your data sources in the virtual data model. Apply caching on a single or all data source entities based on how frequently they are updated with new data. Use the Scheduler to set the frequency and time for refreshing cache database tables to have the most up-to-date data in your virtual database. You can check the cache status of individual entities in Virtual Database Monitor, showing successful runs, errors, warning records, and a complete job log for each job.

Define Entity Relationships

Establish referential integrity between multiple data source entities to create a well-defined structure for your virtual database tables. You can choose the type of cardinality (one-to-one or one-to-many) of the relationships between entities based on the common fields within each database table.

Support for a Wide Range of Connectors

The data virtualization solution enables users to add any type and number of data sources to the virtual data model. Use prebuilt source objects, including on-premise databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.), mainframes (IBM DB2 and COBOL), in-memory file formats (RTF, DOCX, PDF, EDI formats, etc.), and packaged applications (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, SAP, etc.). It also supports cloud databases (Amazon Redshift and Microsoft Azure) and web services (REST, SOAP, FTP, ADO. User Access Roles and Authentication Engine

Astera Data Virtualization ensures encrypted HTTPS communication between the server and client machines by configuring an SSL protocol for the secure exchange of information. With the bearer-token authentication system, you can control and monitor activities and requests made through unique user tokens. In addition, you can create, and manage user roles to define access and privileges for utilizing APIs, commands, and job schedules - all through a unified user management interface.

Astera Data Model Engine

Astera Data Model (ADM) is a proprietary database provider specifically designed to cater to requests for data residing in virtual database tables in Astera Data Virtualization. ADM allows users to run queries for data access and retrieval when requested by the Astera Query Engine through AQL commands and Multi-Table Query source.
