What is an EDI 288 Wage Determination?

EDI 288 is a bi-lateral transaction set which facilitates the exchange of information related to wages. It can be used to send requests inquiring about wage information, including information like the prevailing rates of wages. It is also used to respond to requests made for wage information. The data contents and elements of an EDI 288 determine the wage rates based on a number of factors, such as:

  • Nature of the workforce
  • Occupational categories
  • Contract status
  • Geographical areas
